 Turkey to receive no NATO support in possible military conflict with Russia, - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxemburg

NATO will not help Turkey in case of a possible aggression.

Jean Asselborn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxemburg, which is a NATO member, has declared, Censor.NET reports citing Turkish news outlet Bianet.

Asselborn speaking to Der Spiegel citing Article 5 of NATO treaty stated that NATO's guarantee of aid is practiced only when "an ally is explicitly attacked": "NATO shouldn't draw itself into a military conflict that might occur due to tension between Turkey and Russia recently".

NATO has signaled that Turkey will not receive support in a military conflict that might erupt with Russia as a result of provocation by Turkey.

Turkey is at odds with Russia following a Russian warplane downing by Turkey for violating Turkish border. Russia has decided to impose a series of economic sanctions against Turkey. The Russian warplanes have recently bombed some targets in Azez district of Syrian Aleppo.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu in his statement following the airstrikes said that there were no ISIS members in Azez and blamed Russia.
