 Poroshenko formally submits recommendation on Prosecutor General’s dismissal to parliament

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has introduced the recommendation to dismiss Viktor Shokin from the post of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada.

Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the head of state.

The statement reads: "President Petro Poroshenko has requested the consent of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to dismiss Viktor Shokin from the post of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine."

According to the document, the Prosecutor General is proposed to be dismissed under Item 25 of Part 1 of the Article 85, Item 11 of Part 1 of the Article 106 and Part 1 of the Article 122 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

President's representative in the parliament Stepan Kubiv is authorized to introduce the recommendation at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
