National Police Head Khatia Dekanoidze was disappointed by the decision of the judge to take into custody the police officer who employed weapons in pursuit of the car in Kyiv on the night of Feb. 7. She also urged not to call anyone a murderer without court verdict.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

Today, Feb. 18, Khatia Dekanoidze attended judicial proceedings in the Pechersk district court of Kyiv considering pretrial restriction imposition against patrol police officer Serhii Oliinyk. The National Police Head deplored the judge's decision to place the police officer into custody.

Khatia Dekanoidze stressed that the police was concealing nothing from the very start and submitted all the necessary materials to the investigation. In addition, the national police head said that Serhii Oliinyk had voluntarily attended the prosecutor's office and court hearing.

"Our most important achievement is that we are open, we hide nothing. We must be very careful so that this will not turn into "inquisition" for the police," Khatia Dekanoidze said.
