Court rules pretrial detention for police officer Oliinyk, who shot dead teenager in car chase

The Pechersk district court of Kyiv has ordered pretrial detention until April 18 for patrol police officer Serhii Oliinyk, who shot dead the passenger of the car during its pursuit.

Censor.NET correspondent reports from the courtroom.

The court ruled to take patrol police officer Serhii Oliinyk into custody for two months until April 18.

MP Anton Herashchenko noted: "The Pechersk court has confirmed its notoriety as a punitive body. The judge has imposed a pre-trial detention for two months against Serhii Oliinyk without the right to post a bail. Serhii Oliinyk's lawyers are going to appeal the unreasonable and unfair court decision."
