The Ukrainian military in the Donbas are not forbidden to open fire in response.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to Liga, Chief of General Staff Viktor Muzhenko said it in an interview with Pershyi Natsіonalnyi TV channel.

Muzhenko stressed it is prohibited to provoke militants into opening fire, while it is not forbidden to fire back.

"I personally informed all commanders, starting from company commanders: if they come under fire, decision to retaliate falls within their personal competence," the commander-in-chief stated.
