 Project to equip state border with Russia 20 percent complete, Ukraine’s PM says

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk said that the project to equip the state border with the Russian Federation was 20 percent complete.

He stated this delivering government report to the Verkhovna Rada deputies, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"So far, we have completed only about 20 percent of the works planned to be carried out at the state border," he said.

According to Yatseniuk, about 200 km of anti-tank ditches, more than 70 km of fencing, and 32 towers are constructed at the moment. Several points of the electronic monitoring of the state border have also been deployed.

A total of 2,000 km of the border is planned to be equipped, including 400 km-long section uncontrolled by the Ukrainian government due to the Russian aggression.
