 Minister Poltorak signed order to prosecute culprits in situation around 53th Brigade

Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has signed the order on prosecution of persons established upon official investigation into providing inadequate social and living conditions and food to the servicemen of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Shyrokyi Lan range (the Mykolaiv region).

Censor.NET reports quoting Ministry of Defense press service.

"A deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, certain heads of Armed Forces Logistics, Ground Forces command, as well as a number of Pivden Operational Command officials" have been brought to disciplinary liability.

"Other officials responsible for violations will be held liable by a decision of the Chief of General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the statement reads.

The order also sets deadlines for eliminating shortcomings identified during the inquiry.

"These measures are aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future as well as increasing the responsibility of persons involved in comprehensive support of the troops' everyday life," the ministry stated.
