It is stated in a report by the ATO press center as at 6 a.m. Feb. 15, Censor.NET informs.
As reported, militants have stepped up employing mortars in their attacks on Ukrainian army positions. Over the past day, the enemy used this kind of weaponry 20 times.
"Our strongholds in Krasnohorivka, Pisky, Talakivka, Maiorsk, and Zaitseve came under mortar fire. In Zaitseve and Krasnohorivka, militants employed 120-mm mortars.
"Using grenade launchers and small arms, occupants opened fire on our strong points in Novotroitske, Marinka, Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Opytne, Pisky, and Butivka mine.
"The ATO forces strongholds in Luhanske were hit with heavy machine guns and an anti-tank missile system.
"At the Mariupol direction, a clash occurred near Hnutove, with terrorists using mortars and small arms," the report reads.
As also noted, the situation was tense in Shyrokyne, where the ATO forces positions were hit with small arms. Here and in other areas, Ukrainian soldiers returned fire.
