Cabinet of Ministers should hold emergency meeting to decide on transit of Russian trucks, – Moskal

The Cabinet of Ministers should hold an emergency meeting to decide on prohibition of the transit of Russian trucks through Ukraine.

Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Head Hennadii Moskal wrote оn his website, Censor.NET reports.

"The situation at Nyzhni Vorota checkpoint (entrance to Zakarpattia from the Lviv region) remains normal. No trucks with Russian plates attempted to pass through Nyzhni Vorota. The checkpoint operates as usual," Moskal stressed.

No excesses were also reported at checkpoints located at the border of the Zakarpattia region with the EU countries: "As of today's morning, one truck with Russian plates passed through Diakove checkpoint to Romania, while two Russian trucks passed through Uzhhorod checkpoint to Slovakia."

However, the mentioned trucks were on customs clearance before the blockade started. There are no other Russian trucks at the checkpoint at the moment.

"There is, however, a different problem. Around 100 trucks with Russian plates entered Ukraine through checkpoints in the Zakarpattia region. All of them were cleared by the customs and border guards since there was no reason to stop them. The government should hold an emergency meeting to make a principle decision on the transit of Russian trucks that enter Ukraine from the European Union (as well as those following through Ukraine to the EU). No such decision has been made so far," Moskal summed up.
