Censor.NET reports citing the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) press officer Andrii Zadubinnyi on 112 Channel.
The decision to close the checkpoint was made after the yesterdays' clash with sabotage and reconnaissance group of the militants, which was reported on Feb. 13., at 9:30 a.m.
"A sabotage and reconnaissance group of the militants approached. They attacked two of our strongholds at Marinka town. Ukrainian border guards fired back. They were forced to suspend work of the checkpoint in Marinka," Zadubinnyi said.
Clashes reported at Marinka as militants violated truce 69 times over past 24 hours
The terrorists shelled the checkpoints again at around 7 p.m. yesterday. After that it was calm, so the border guards decided to open the checkpoint. "However, it will be closed again if the hostilities continue," he stressed.
According to Zadubinnyi, there are wounded among Ukrainian soldiers. More details of the incident will be available later.
