The military prosecutor’s office of Mykolaiv Garrison initiated criminal proceedings for providing inadequate social and living conditions and food to the servicemen of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Shyrokyi Lan range (Mykolaiv region).

The criminal case was opened Feb. 8 following the complaint lodged by the soldiers, who came from the shooting range to the prosecutor's office on foot because of the intolerable conditions.

The agency clarified that the information on this criminal offense was recorded in the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under Part 3 of the Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power by military official, which resulted in severe consequences).
