 "They acted in lawful manner, made several warnings," – National police head commented on night chase in Kyiv

Kyiv patrol police acted within the law in pursuit of BMW and subsequent use of force against suspects in it in Kyiv at night.

National Police of Ukraine Head Khatia Dekanoidze stated when speaking with Kyiv residents, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Our law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office are establishing the details of the incident. I was told that several warnings were made, the suspects were ordered to stop the vehicle via loudspeakers, warning shots were fired. It is very important that the police officers have stood within the bounds of the law," Dekanoidze said.

At the same time, the National police head noted that it was necessary to study the footage and the testimony made by the patrol policemen.

"But I think they have acted in a lawful manner. I hope so," Khatia Dekanoidze said.

"And, of course, the incident itself is not positive. I am not glad about it at all," the National police head stressed.
