 Former police officer arrested inside PGO building attempting to pay $25,000 bribe

A former police officer attempted to pay a $25,000 bribe to the Prosecutor General's Office investigators inside the building of the agency.

Kyiv region Prosecutor Yevhen Bondarenko said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

"The attempt to bribe Prosecutor General's Office investigator was recorded by the Internal Security Service and prosecutors of Kyiv district in the premises of the Prosecutor General's Office building Feb. 4, 2016," he said.

According to Yevhen Bondarenko, a former employee of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry offered two members of the military prosecutor's office a $25,000 bribe in exchange of lifting the attachment from the ship, which was seized for illegal entry into the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine - the territory of Crimea.
