Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction offers considering the candidacy of Presidential Administration First Deputy Head Vitalii Kovalchuk for the post of the minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine.

Poroshenko Bloc faction first deputy chairman Ihor Kononenko told reporters on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET reports.

Kononenko said some deputies within the faction voiced the proposal to replace Aivaras Abromavicius with Vitalii Kovalchuk.

"We have published a list of candidates that are now being debated within our faction. We offer considering them in the coalition. There is also a proposal on appointing Kovalchuk first vice prime minister - minister of economy," the MP said.

Earlier, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius announced his decision to resign over an illegal pressure put on him by Poroshenko Bloc faction first deputy chairman Ihor Kononenko.

Kononenko, in turn, called the allegations by Abromavicius "untrue and absurd."
