Soviet attitude towards army nutrition should be changed; working groups to check quality, range and cooking process, – Poltorak

A working meeting with heads of food suppliers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held today, Jan. 30.

Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

Essential issues on collaboration of the Ministry of Defense and the suppliers have been discussed.

"We plan to change the attitude towards army nutrition in 2016. Our efforts should be focused on providing the soldiers with quality products. Approaches inherited from the Soviet era should be changed. Unfortunately, some suppliers who do not like changes are lobbying their interests through the people's deputies and biased media. I consider such approach unacceptable. Therefore, we decided to create the Program to develop relations with supply companies. We need to resolve the issues and organize advertised electronic bidding with participation of media representatives. Only a transparent, unbiased and fair approach will yield positive results, and our troops will be adequately fed," he wrote.

"Mobile working groups will be sent to the ATO zone and places of permanent deployment of Ukrainian troops next week. They will include experts of the hospital trains, the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and supply companies who will inspect the process of cooking, sanitary standards, as well as quality and range of products that are delivered to the soldiers," Poltorak summed up.Источник: https://en.censor.net.ua/n371783
