Ukraine and "DPR" fail to agree on POWs' release

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine in Minsk, "DPR" representatives came up with a proposal on POWs exchange, which was unacceptable to the Ukrainian side.

Poroshenko Bloc MP, member of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk Iryna Herashchenko wrote in Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"We talked about the search for MIAs. "DPR" representatives once again promised to allow an ICRC mission to exhumation and identification of the fallen soldiers. We would like to have at least one promise fulfilled on their part. The most difficult thing: militants offered a six-for-three formula of POWs exchange. I asked them why one our soldier should be released, while three others would remain in custody and received no answer. We stand on releasing 25 heroes (civil and military) from our list and offer looking for a compromise on this issue," she wrote.
