Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov commented on Vladimir Putin's statements on wrongfulness of integration of the Donbas into Ukraine prior to the start of a closed meeting with leading designers, scientists and defense industry CEOs regarding the schedule of activities for the production and testing of the new domestically produced missile in 2016, Censor.NET reports citing the NSDC press service.
"The head of the nuclear nation casts doubt on European borders formed after World War II, openly expressing territorial claims to Ukraine. Thus, Putin claimed that the Donbas was illegally made part of Ukraine, when he was delivering his speech in the Kremlin," Oleksandr Turchynov stressed.
"Such public statements are a blatant political attempt to justify military aggression against our country," he said explaining that this was another proof that Russia was not going to voluntarily cease the occupation and military operations in the east of Ukraine.
According to the NSDC secretary, Ukraine should have a single response to this aggression - the strengthening of the country's defense capability. "In particular, the production of sophisticated weapons capable of stopping and destroying the aggressor," he added.
