Rada to consider amendments to Constitution on decentralization only after Russia fulfills Minsk deal, - MP Burbak

Head of the People’s Front parliamentary faction Maksym Burbak states that amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine in terms of decentralization of power depend on the fulfillment of all preceding items of the Minsk agreements by the Russian Federation.

Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"While a new draft of the Constitution is being developed, the current Constitution requires amendments, including those for successful completion of the negotiation process on the Donbas. Amendments to the Constitution (in terms of decentralization of power - Ed.) are possible only as the final point of the negotiation process after the Russian aggressor ceases hostilities, withdraws its troops from the territory of Ukraine, and Ukraine restores control over the border. Only in this case the bill to amend the Constitution in terms of decentralization will be introduced for consideration in the second reading," Maksym Burbak said in the parliament Tuesday morning.
