Terrorists fired at Ukrainian soldiers’ positions from banned weapons four times in Mariupol direction, – Kindsfater

On Jan. 23, pro-Russian terrorists fired four times at the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces’ positions in the Mariupol sector.

Speaker of the M sector Oleksandr Kindsfater told 112 Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the militants' attacks were reported near Marinka, Starohnativka and Shyrokyne. "Russian occupants fired from small arms, automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and sniper rifles," he said.

The press officer said that the militants were using heavy artillery banned by the Minsk Agreements for two days in a row.

"Yesterday, the ATO forces' positions at Starohnativka village were shelled with 122-mm 2S1 Gvozdika gun. There were reports about 36 explosions," Kindsfater said. He also noted that the Ukrainian army did not fire back.

The last attack on Jan. 23 was reported at 10:00 p.m. There are no casualties among Ukrainian soldiers.

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine control the situation in the area," Kindsfater added.
