Censor.NET reports citing Dzerkalo Tyzhnia's journalist Serhii Rakhmanin.
"Zakharchenko and Plotnitskiy make the scenario of a 'peaceful' reintegration of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions almost implausible. It is clearly understood not only in Kyiv, but also in the West. It seems that Moscow begins to realize it as well. The fate of the heads of the 'DPR' and 'LPR' has already became an agenda of informal talks in the Kremlin," the journalist said.

According to him, if the issue of elections in the occupied territories and recognition of them by Kyiv are resolved positively, Zakharchenko and Plotnitskiy would be 'politely' asked on behalf of Putin to leave their positions. "Maybe, they will be appointed in Russia or just threatened of physical elimination. Instead, their deputies will appear. It doesn't matter which one exactly; respectable if possible. They just have to formally fit the role of new symbols of peaceful solution and be able to negotiate," the article reads.
"Russia believes that to maintain effective control over the 'DPR' and 'LPR', it has to control the 'Novorosia' leaders. Do you need a brand new image? Here you go! But in response Moscow is waiting for the same sensitivity from Kyiv. Moscow needs legitimate elections," Rakhmanin wrote.
