 IMF's Lagarde deems meeting with Poroshenko success

International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde is positive about the prospects of granting the next IMF tranche to Ukraine.

She said this after meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Censor.NET informs referring to Interfax-Ukraine.

Lagarde says the discussion was quite productive, while hoping it would bring the parties closer to signing the memorandum developed by both sides. She also expressed hope the process would end successfully.

According to Lagarde, the meeting was rather fruitful, with Ukraine's economic development issues being discussed. She says the parties talked over the pace of reforms in Ukraine and the adoption of 2016 state budget.

President Petro Poroshenko is also satisfied with the meeting. According to him, Ukraine is close to reaching an agreement with the IMF.
