On Jan. 18, another phase of the training course for Ukrainian sappers aimed at dealing with improvised explosive devices started at the Demining Center of the Main Directorate of Operations Support of Ukraine's Armed Forces in Kamianets-Podilskyi with the participation of Canadian instructors.

"From the first days of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, Canada and its people have demonstrated worldwide their firm position in dealing with the military conflict in the Donbas. I hope that the 2-year program of joint exercises developed in 2015 will improve the professional level of troops of both countries and bring peace to our land," Chief of the Demining Centre, Colonel Volodymyr Rodikov said.

The leader of a new group of Canadian explosion ordnance disposal trainers Major Yugo Marcotte thanked Ukrainian soldiers for their trust and warm welcome and expressed confidence that the experience he and his colleagues intended to share would come in handy for Ukrainian sappers in performing tasks both during peacekeeping missions and in ATO area.
