Situation became tense in Donetsk sector of ATO area, – ATO speaker

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area, in the vicinity of Svitlodarsk salient, got tense.

Speaker of the Presidential Administration on the ATO matters, Colonel Oleksandr Motuzianyk informed, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

According to him, the militants repeatedly fired at the ATO forces' positions from IFV anti-tank guns, as well as small weapons near the Svitlodarsk salient. The terrorists started firing after midnight and continued until late night, provoking Ukrainian soldiers," the speaker said.

Motuzianyk also said that the situation was relatively calm near Horlivka, while cease-fire was violated near Zaitseve.

The situation remains tense in the area of the Donetsk airport. In particular, the Army's positions at Opytne were shelled with an IFV weapon.

"The militants have also provoked Ukrainian soldiers along the entire front line, firing at the Army's positions at Avdiivka town and the village of Pisky," he added.

According to Motuzianyk, the militants violated the truce near Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Starohnativka in the Mariupol sector, firing from small arms.
