 Five border guards were detained at Chonhar checkpoint for taking bribe (UPD – information disproved)

The Security Service of Ukraine together with the police and the prosecutor's office detained five employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for bribery at the Chonhar checkpoint in the Kherson region.

According to the report, the border guards were caught red-handed during extraction and acceptation of bribes from truckers for unimpeded crossing of the checkpoint.

"By the time of detention, the border guards have been paid by three truck drivers moving from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. They received $700 and 4,500 hryvnia. Money and other evidence of criminal activity were discovered during the search," the report reads.

The investigation continues.
