 Gryzlov met with Poroshenko in Kyiv, - media

Boris Gryzlov arrived in the Ukrainian capital at the personal invitation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

An informed source told zn.ua, Censor.NET reports.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the main issues concerning Moscow's relations with Kyiv. According to the source, Gryzlov has been authorized by Vladimir Putin for this conversation.

Poroshenko met with Gryzlov after returning from Ternopil, at around 10 p.m. Jan. 11. The meeting ended at 1 a.m., the source says, after which Gryzlov left for the airport and departed from Boryspil at 2 a.m.

As noted by the source, apart from other topics, the sides discussed constitutional changes which should be introduced in the Ukrainian parliament before the end of the current session.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry claimed the Russian envoy had arrived for talks with the Ukrainian representative to the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbass Leonid Kuchma. However, Gryzlov will meet him tomorrow in Minsk during the group's meeting. Therefore, the reasons for an additional meeting of Moscow's representative with Kuchma remain vague.
