 IMF agrees that state budget-2016 meets objectives of cooperation program with Ukraine, Finance Minister Jaresko says

The International Monetary Fund has agreed that the budget adopted Dec. 25 meets the objectives of the program of Ukraine's cooperation with the Fund.

Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko said in a comment to Ekonomichna Pravda, Censor.NET reports.

"Firstly, the lawmakers introduced several amendments to the draft budget during its consideration in the Verkhovna Rada that have not been agreed upon with the IMF, and secondly, they refused to adopt the revised version of the Tax Code, which was adopted by the president at the National reforms council and which formed the basis of the draft law on the state budget agreed by the Ministry of Finance with the IMF," the minister said.

According to her, the IMF has already completed its assessment of the state budget and the corresponding package of legislation, the adoption of which was necessary to adopt the state budget for 2016.

"The IMF has agreed that the adopted budget was broadly in line with the objectives of the program," Jaresko said.
