"The most difficult situation was reported at Zaitseve and Maiorsk. There, the militants fired at Ukrainian soldiers and civilians from small arms, heavy machine guns, and grenade launchers. In particular, a civilian car was fired by the terrorists. As a result, a local woman was injured. The consequences of the attack could be much worse, but a National Police officer, risking his own life, did everything possible to stop the car and take it away from the firing line. The militants fired their guns directly at civilians. Unfortunately, the brave captain of the National Police of Ukraine has been killed while saving innocent people," the statement reads.
