 Pro-Russian militants opened fire 15 times on New Year's eve, fired grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns, - ATO press center

Terrorists conducted 22 military provocations against the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces over the past day.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center.

"Looks like pro-Russian illegal armed gangs have been waiting for the termination of the Minsk agreements. The Normandy Four talks had no influence over the invaders either," the message reads.

According to the HQ, the militants, using small arms, automated grenade launchers, and 120-mm caliber mortars banned by the Minsk agreements were aiming fire at Ukrainian defenders near Avdiivka last night; the Kremlin mercenaries shelled the Ukrainian soldiers' positions in Pisky with 82-mm mortars.

"In the Donetsk region, the militants continued conducting provocative shelling from large-caliber mortars and grenade launchers near Pisky, Opytne, Novhorodske and Avdiivka. In the Luhansk region, the bandits used automated grenade launchers to fire at our positions near Shchastia; small arms were used near Zolote," the HQ informed.

It it noted that today, Jan. 1, militants were aiming fire from automated grenade launchers and small arms at the Ukrainian forces' positions near Marinka.

"On the first day of the new 2016 year the enemy was conducting intense but unaimed fire near Opytne, Pisky, Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Luhanske, and Troitske. The enemy was mostly using small arms, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. Since midnight, 15 cases of the cease-fire violations by the enemy have been recorded," the ATO press center's message reads.
