Naftohaz offers Gazprom to hold talks in connection with adoption of new pricing rules for gas transit

Naftohaz of Ukraine National Joint Stock Company proposed the Russian Gazprom to carry out negotiations in connection with the adoption of new pricing rules on gas transportation services in Ukraine by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities.

Ukrainski Novyny reports citing the statement by Naftohaz of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.

"We remain a reliable partner and confirm that the transportation of gas to European consumers will be carried out without obstructions in quantities envisaged by the contract. The transition to the common European practice of pricing for transit will contribute to the further integration of our gas transportation infrastructure into the European energy system and strengthening of the reliability of gas supplies to the EU," the press service quoted the statement of company's Chairman Andrii Kobolev.

Dec. 29, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities levied tariffs for transportation of natural gas through interconnectors for entry and exit points

"While the cost of service for natural gas transit through the territory of Ukraine has not been regulated by the state earlier and has been determined solely by the bilateral contract between two economic entities - Naftohaz of Ukraine NJSC and Gazprom PJSC, the corresponding tariffs are now determined by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities," the press service of Naftohaz stressed.

Naftohaz notes that the decision of the National Commission for State Regulation is compulsory after its official release.

Reasoning from this fact, Naftohaz has offered Gazprom to hold talks regarding changes in pricing rules on gas transit.

As reported earlier, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities levied tariffs for transportation of natural gas through major pipelines for the GTS operator Ukrtranshaz under the system of entry and exit points from Jan. 1, 2016.

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has imposed the tariff of $12.47 per one thousand cubic meters for all entry points of the gas transmission system.
