Pro-Russian militants committed shelling 22 times yesterday, 'complete silence' fell after midnight, - ATO press center

Significant slowdown in pro-Russian illegal armed gangs' activities has been recorded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the Donbas.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center on Facebook as of 6 a.m. Dec. 30.

"14 cases of weapons use by militants against the ATO forces' units were recorded between 6 p.m. Dec. 29 and midnight. The majority of these cases were unaimed fire. However, the bandits opened aimed fire from large-caliber mortars against Ukrainian positions near Novotroitske, 10 km to the north of Volnovakha," the message reads.

It is also noted that in the vicinity of the temporarily occupied Donetsk militants fired small arms and grenade launchers at the ATO forces' strongpoints near Marinka; an enemy sniper was operating near Opytne.
