Court hears case of Russian GRU operatives Aleksandrov and Yerofeyev

The Holosiivskyi district court of Kyiv continues hearing of the case filed against servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Alexander Aleksandrov.

Presiding judge Mykola Didyk has announced, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

Two prosecutors and two lawyers, as well as the complainant have arrived to the court. The defendants have also been brought.

At the beginning of the meeting, defender of Yerofeyev Oksana Sokolovska requested the court to take measures to ensure her security.

According to the lawyer, the Prosecutor General's Office puts pressure on her attempting to unreasonably make her a subject to disciplinary action.

Sokolovska accuses the prosecutor's office of interfering in the advocacy.

She asked the court to appeal to the president, the Security Service of Ukraine and Prosecutor General's Office senior officials on this issue.

Russian commandos Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov were detained by soldiers of the anti-terrorist operation during a battle near Shchastia (the Luhansk region) on May 16.
