As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine TV channel, Andrii Biletskyi, National Guard's Azov regiment commander, said in 24 news show.
"About 12-15 armored vehicles arrived there with artillery reserves having been pulled as well. Outside Kominternove (the Ukrainian side), they started to build their front stronghold, hardening defense facilities with concrete. They've brought construction equipment and are actively mining roads and approaches. I think they have taken the village for long," Biletskyi said.
According to him, it was a great mistake by the Ukrainian side to leave Kominternove unwatched. "No predictions can be made about a possible offensive. But what we can say for sure now is that separatists have significantly improved their starting positions," the commander noted.
As previously reported, yesterday morning militants entered Kominternove village within a neutral zone near Mariupol. Except small arms and RPGs, militants also have armored combat vehicles, possibly tanks, and other heavy equipment prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Yesterday, the militants in Kominternove opened fire on the Ukrainian military and tried to infiltrate their territory.
As also noted, today at midnight a total cease-fire regime agreed during the Minsk talks took effect.
