General of the Army of Ukraine, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with Ms. Judith Gough, British Ambassador to Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The head of the Defence Ministry congratulated Ms. Gough on her appointment and stressed that the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine had paid a lot of attention to development of defence relations with the UK.
Stepan Poltorak spoke about current military-political situation in Ukraine and the stance of the Ukrainian party regarding the increase of the OSCE International Monitoring Mission in the east of Ukraine, as well as deployment of foreign instructors of the OSCE nations in the region.
"The ongoing conflict in Ukraine proves the necessity of defence reforms considering new threats and challenges," Defence Minister underlined.
Stepan Poltorak said the Ministry of Defense along with the foreign advisers and RAND Corporation was under completion of a joint vision of reforms.
He announced that the Road Map of Reforms would be presented to NATO nations defence ministries at the NATO HQ in Feb. 2016.
General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak thanked the UK Government for humanitarian and ad hoc aid.
Particularly, the Defence Minister praised the assistance of Mr. Phil Jones, Special Advisor to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Ms. Judith Gouph pledged the Ukrainian party in permanent and comprehensive support from the United Kingdom for development of cooperation between defence ministries of both countries, particularly, in medical support, as well as psychological rehabilitation of the Ukrainian servicemen.
