 Situation in ATO area aggravates: 39 attacks and two engagements registered since last evening, - HQ

Yesterday in the evening, the situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone grew more tense.

As reported, since 6 p.m. invaders committed eight aimed attacks on the ATO forces' positions, using small arms and RPGs near Marinka. A clash with an enemy unit occurred in the same area, involving at least 30 militants. Ukrainian troops engaged in the fight and repelled the enemy. Having suffered losses, the militants retreated.

Another clash occurred near Shchastia in the Luhansk region: "A gang of at least 10 terrorists suffered the same outcome - the attackers withdrew to their positions, taking away their wounded and killed fighters."

"Armed provocations against the Ukrainian military took place in other sections along of the demarcation line. In particular, the enemy continued attacks near Pisky, Opytne, southern outskirts of Avdiivka. Krasnohorivka got under anti-aircraft and 82-mm mortar fire yesterday. The same kind of mortars was used to shell our strongholds in the vicinity of Zaitseve and near the occupied Horlivka. Moreover, the enemy used RPGs, small arms, as well as 120-mm mortars and tanks banned by the Minsk agreements," the report reads.

As noted, in the Mariupol direction the enemy fired 82-mm mortars in the direction of the ATO forces positions near Starohnativka.

"Overall, 39 cases of cease-fire violation by pro-Russian gangs were registered over the past day, as well as two engagements," the report notes.

According to the headquarters, since midnight militants have violated the truce six times already: "All of them were registered in the vicinity of Pisky, Opytne, and Avdiivka, where the enemy employed small arms, heavy machine guns, and various types of grenade launchers."
