 Klimkin: Ukraine’s mission to UN to be additionally strengthened with team of 15 diplomats

In addition to the appointment of Volodymyr Yelchenko representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, the mission itself will be strengthened with a team of 15 diplomats.

This was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Yelchenko will be directly engaged in issues of our membership in the Security Council, he will also act as our representative to the UN. However, we are strengthening our mission. We have created a separate team: 15 diplomats have been additionally selected in the open competition," Klimkin said.

According to him, one of Yelchenko's deputies will assist him with the issues regarding the UN Security Council, another one - with those of the United Nations as a whole. "So do not worry, there will be definitely no problems with the UN-related issues due to our focus on the Security Council," the minister assured.
