 80 Ukrainian soldiers sent to Germany for medical treatment

Germany has provided Ukraine with medical equipment and invited more than 80 soldiers to the EU for medical treatment.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

A German delegation visited Zaporizhia military hospital on Dec.19. The German officials have familiarized with the capabilities of the hospital, its needs, and checked the medical equipment supplied by Germany this fall.

According to head of Zaporizhia military hospital Lieutenant Colonel Olha Chop, when the decision to establish a medical institution was made, they were hardly managing with it, lacking modern medical equipment for treatment of wounded.

"The whole country helped us open our hospital. German humanitarian aid was very important. We received breathing systems, patient's monitors, wheelchairs, an ultrasonic nebulizer, an automatic tonometer, and surgical instruments," Olha Chop said.

Wolfgang Mossinger, German Consul General, praised the experience and qualifications of Ukrainian medical personnel of the hospital.

"Thanks to this equipment, the Ukrainian servicemen receive the best treatment because they defend Ukraine and the whole civilized Europe as well," Mr. Mossinger underlined.
