Minister Jaresko hopes Ukraine and Russia agree on debt before trial

Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko expressed hope that Ukraine and Russia would manage to agree on Russian debt settlement before the legal action is taken.

As reported by Censor.NET, she announced it on air of BloombergTV.

There is hope Ukraine can negotiate with Russia on debt settlement before being taken to court, the finance minister said.

As previously reported, on Dec. 18, the Ukrainian government introduced a moratorium on the payment of the so-called Russian debt amounting to $3 billion.

The IMF earlier stated it would continue its cooperation with Ukraine while not considering the country's unpaid debt to the Russian Federation in the amount of $3 billion to be an obstacle for the issue of next tranche.
