As reported by Censor.NET citing the Interior Ministry of Ukraine press service, this was announced by the head of the ministry on air of 1+1 TV channel on Dec. 17.
"80 percent of Kyiv police heads failed to pass reassessment for police service. All dismissed police officers have received their severance, and their civil rights have been respected. The problem is that the statement "people have nothing to lose" does not interest me when I am creating a construction I am responsible for. I am constructing the new police with the new ideology," Arsen Avakov said.
He noted that he was not going to "be sympathetic" with those policemen who were covering for or organizing crimes and now strive to become new police officers. In order to prevent this, police commissions have been created which also include public representatives.
