 National Guard NATO standard light infantry brigade to demonstrate counter-terrorism skills tomorrow

On Dec. 17, at 11 a.m., an event attended by representatives of the G7 countries embassies will take place at the National Guard training ground in Novi Petrivtsi.

The event will also be attended by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, the commander of the National Guard, and NATO experts. Censor.NET reports referring to National Guard press service.

"The National Guard of Ukraine is country's first force to have been reformed, being a leader in transition to NATO standards. Today, the National Guard of Ukraine together with NATO military experts is working on structural reforms, introducing new methods of combat and special training in accordance with NATO standards," the statement reads.

Soldiers of the National Guard will demonstrate their skills in a counter-terrorism drill.

"NG's light infantry brigade is formed in accordance with the requirements of optimal command structure, which significantly speeds up evaluation and decision-making process.

"There is a program developed together with experts intended for training junior officers to use modern methods of evaluating the situation on the spot and in a specific period of time and make decisions without waiting for hours for a command from above," the press service notes.
