IMF supports decision of Ukraine’s Cabinet allowing residents to avoid excess payment for heating, - Vice Prime Minister

The letter of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) representative reads that the Fund has no objections against the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regulating rates for water and heating supply.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko published the letter of the IMF representative on Twitter Tuesday night, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"We have received decree No. 630 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and hereby certify that we do not stand against this proposal, which, as we see, is generally consistent with the program, which we support," the letter of the IMF representative reads.

"The IMF has supported decree No. 630 allowing residents to avoid excess payment for heating," Zubko made his comment on Twitter.

The minister explained that "the people will pay for what they have actually consumed," meaning the system of payment for heating according to the actual consumption.
