Famous Russian musician Boris Grebenshchikov signed a letter to the prosecutor general of the Russian Federation, asking him to take urgent measures and repeal sentences against Ukrainians Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, and Hennadii Afanasiev.

Russian rock musician Boris Grebenshchikov spoke in support of Russian-held Ukrainian citizens Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, and Hennadii Afanasiev and was photographed with a poster "Ukrainian activists are illegally imprisoned in the Russian Federation."

Grebenshchikov took part in the Amnesty International global letter-writing marathon conducted by the human rights movement in support of people whose rights have been violated.

"Grebenshchikov has signed a letter to the prosecutor general of the Russian Federation, asking him to take urgent measures and repeal sentences against Ukrainians Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, and Hennadii Afanasiev based on absurd terrorism charges. He called for either bringing proper charges or releasing them," AI Russia website writes.

The musician also signed a petition to the authorities of the United States and Syria, El Salvador and Uzbekistan. Grebenshchikov was photographed with a poster depicting 68-year-old Albert Woodfox who has spent more than 40 years in solitary confinement.
