Minsk agreements will be fulfilled only after last Russian soldier leaves Ukrainian territory, Turchynov says

The Minsk agreements envisage that the entire territory of the Donbas must be released from the invaders.

National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said commenting on a journalists' question concerning the statement of the Russian representative to the UN that the Ukrainian military allegedly took control over seven villages in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area, Censor.NET reports citing the NSDC press service.

"I do not understand Russia's hysteria on this issue while there are still a lot of cities and districts, which should be under the control of Ukraine under the Minsk agreements, but they are still captured by the Russian occupation forces," he said adding that the main goal of the Minsk Agreement is the complete liberation of Donbas from the Russian occupation and regaining of control over the Russia-Ukraine border, "but not the electoral process, as certain persons are trying to represent the Minsk agreements," he said.

At the same time, NSDC Secretary stressed that Ukraine fulfilled all its obligations without violating the Minsk deal, while "the Russian occupation troops and the terrorist groups they back constantly violate the cease-fire attacking Ukrainian positions every day".

"We understand the Minsk agreements as a full liberation of the Ukrainian territory from the Russian invaders and focus our efforts at this direction. It will be possible to say that the Minsk agreements are fulfilled only after the last Russian soldier leaves the Ukrainian territory," Oleksandr Turchynov said.
