Right Sector removes itself from blockade of Crimea

The representatives of the Right Sector declare that they remove themselves from participation in civil action to block Crimea and withdraw their members from all the checkpoints.

Representative of the Right Sector Oleksii Byk said Friday, Dec 11, Censor.NET reports citing Krym.Realii.

"The operational headquarters of the Right Sector on the blockade has decided that we are changing the format of our presence on the border with Crimea due to the fact that our partners in the blockade permitted delivery of energy having actually removed us from the decision-making. We will no longer participate in the Crimean Maidan, block roads, and guard the checkpoints. We have discontinued our participation in the blockade of Crimea," he said.

Byk said he did not exclude the possibility of return "but it requires additional coordination, negotiation, and change of the format of relations within the blockade."

At the same time one of the initiators of the civil blockade of Crimea Lenur Isliamov said that the Right Sector will have its representative in the headquarters of the action.

"The Right Sector withdraws its members from the civil checkpoints that currently have no sense. We are also leaving these checkpoints now because we have to reformat them. We have no problems with the Right Sector. We reformat the civil action itself," said Isliamov.
