"I can definitely say that Italy does not oppose the sanctions and shares the EU member countries position," he noted.
Besides, Romano stressed that Italy's stance regarding Russia would remain unchanged until its full compliance with all agreements made in Minsk.
It was reported earlier that the sanctions issue had been taken off from the table at the meeting of the EU permanent representatives, and the decision of cancelling the sanctions discussion was made under pressure by Italy, which opposed automatic prolongation of the sanctions.
