The statement reads: "At the daily briefing on the situation along the demarcation line, acting head of the Ukrainian side of Joint center for control and coordination of cease-fire (JCCC) Colonel Ihor Loza informed the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) that despite the considerable efforts made by the Ukrainian side for the cease-fire to be observed along the line of contact, the militants of the illegal armed groups of the "LPR" and "DPR" keep cynically violating the truce.
"They show aggression committing provocative and accurate attacks on the ATO forces' positions using small arms, high-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers thereby trying to invite retaliation fire of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and violate Minsk agreements.
"The militants also continue using mortars, the withdrawal of which was declared by the leaders of the "LPR" and "DPR". JCCC observers recorded six attacks on the Ukrainian troops with 120-mm mortars and three strikes with 82-mm mortars over the past day, Dec 8.
"The representatives of the Joint center for control and coordination of cease-fire made 13 cease-fire attempts, nine of which were successful.
"At the same time, we are extremely concerned by the use of BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers by the militants of the illegal armed groups against positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the vicinity of the villages of Zoriane and Zhelanne Druhe. Several missiles impacted the house on 33 Ivan Franko Street in Zoriane village. 13 rockets totally were launched.
"The proofs of attacks have been recorded using relevant equipment and transferred to the OSCE SMM. Now the Ukrainian side of the JCCC is preparing appropriate proposals for possible consideration and thorough investigation of this issue by the Trilateral Contact Group to settle the situation in the Donbas.
"Of particular concern is the fact that the attacks took place during the meeting of the subgroup on security issues (of the Trilateral Contact Group to settle the situation in the Donbas - Ed.) in Minsk.
"There is a clear trend towards artificial aggravation of the situation by the militants in the run-up to negotiations to resolve the conflict. According to the Ukrainian side of the JCCC, attacks on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions are aimed at the cynical disruption of the Minsk agreements and show reluctance of the "LPR" and "DPR" and their sponsors to fulfill their obligations."
