In the course of the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine, the president paid special attention to the discussion of bilateral contacts at the highest level and establishment of interaction of the two countries in the OSCE to resolve the situation in Donbas and protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol. The head of state thanked the government of Switzerland for humanitarian, technical and financial aid provided for Ukraine and urged for the intensification of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.
In the course of the conversation with the Ambassador of Moldova, the president expressed hope for prompt stabilization of political situation and formation of the new Government of Moldova. The parties discussed certain aspects of Transnistria conflict settlement and the role of Ukraine and Moldova in ensuring regional security, particularly in the issue of withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine and Moldova. They also noted the importance of coordinating efforts in the European integration direction, inter alia, in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreements.
Speaking of the European integration with Ambassador of Albania to Ukraine Ms. Shpresa Kureta, the president noted the similarity of priorities in foreign policy of the two countries in this sphere. The head of state said that the idea of European integration had united the nation and expressed interest in the experience of Albania on the way to the EU membership. "The development of economic potential, including the signature of the agreement on free trade area between Albania and Ukraine can become a good response to global challenges we are facing," the president emphasized.
In the course of the conversation with the Ambassador of Ireland, President Poroshenko noted the consistent support of Ireland in the issue of protection of Ukraine's territorial integrity and implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU. The president emphasized the necessity of unity and solidarity of the EU in the issue of support for Ukraine. The head of state also urged Irish investors to pay attention to the potential of Ukraine that will be unleashed with the beginning of FTA functioning.
In the course of the conversation with the Ambassador of Uruguay, the president thanked the Government of Uruguay for supporting Ukraine during the vote for the UN Security Council non-permanent members. "The future chairmanship of Uruguay in the UN Security Council will be a wonderful opportunity to stabilize global security and coordinate our joint actions," the president said. The head of state conveyed invitation to President of Uruguay Tabaré Vázquez to visit Ukraine in 2016. The Uruguayan Ambassador expressed willingness of Uruguay to intensify bilateral political and economic contacts with Ukraine.
Discussing the prospects of Ukrainian-Chilean relations with the Ambassador of Chile, the president noted the interest of Ukraine in enhancing trade and economic cooperation with Latin American countries in agricultural, transport, energy, aviation and space spheres. Petro Poroshenko thanked Chile for its support in the UN Security Council. The parties agreed to sign bilateral Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation soon.
