 PGO expects Saakashvili to confirm in writing voiced facts of corruption in Cabinet

The Prosecutor General’s Office is confident that the case into Saakashvili's statements will be thoroughly investigated.

Member of Prosecutor General's Office Vladyslav Kutsenko said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

"We will respond only in accordance with the law and the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. You know that the special purpose Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has been created within the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and its head has already been appointed. According to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has jurisdiction to investigate such actions, and the procedural control over the investigation should be carried out by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. I think that Saakashvili's statement will be studied, and it is desirable that he aid us, confirm the facts voiced by him in writing. Mr. Sytnyk also made a statement yesterday expressing readiness to file this information into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations. Therefore, I think this case will be thoroughly investigated," Kutsenko said.
