"Time of elections is gone - four years without elections are ahead," - Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko expects that Ukraine will hold no elections over the next four years and it will be possible to carry out a number of successful reforms in the country instead.

He said this at a joint briefing with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Kyiv on Monday, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainska Pravda.

"Three election campaigns were held in Ukraine over the past year and a half. We did our best to ensure complete rebooting of the government: presidential, parliamentary, and local elections were held," the head of state said.

According to Poroshenko, all three campaigns matched European and international standards.

"The time of elections is gone - four years without elections are ahead. During those four years, it is necessary to implement all the reforms that will ensure Ukraine's compliance with the criteria granting accession into the European Union and other defensive alliances."

According to him, all forces should be concentrated to gain this objective.
