President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told Le Figaro, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
"As long as the Minsk Agreements are not fulfilled, the EU sanctions must be prolonged! If the Minsk agreements are violated, Russia would pay," he said.
Poroshenko rejects the arguments of those who claim that sanctions do not work and have serious consequences for the European Union itself. "The main problem for the EU is not the sanctions, but retaliatory sanctions, introduced by Russia," the president said.
