 Top US official will travel to Europe to discuss sanctions against Russia

Adam Szubin, acting undersecretary of the U.S. Treasury Department for terrorism and financial intelligence, will visit Italy, Germany and the U.K next week and meet with government officials, think tanks and business, legal and compliance leaders.

He will also discuss U.S.-European counter-terrorism finance work, including efforts against Islamic State and enforcement of sanctions on Russia.

Adam Szubin will also outline ongoing U.S. preparations for sanctions relief under a nuclear agreement with Iran, while also explaining that some U.S. sanctions will remain on Iran over its support for terrorism and human-rights abuses
